Recently, the highly anticipated "Gongmei Cup" Beijing Traditional Arts and Crafts Competition came to a successful conclusion. The team led by Pan Zhitao, a teacher in the Product Design program at the School of Arts and Design of Beijing City University (BCU), won the Silver Award for their work Zunsheng Pagoda and the Bronze Award for Five Blessings Phoenix Incense Burner Cloisonné Ornament. Professor Jia Yixian's work Joyous Celebration also won the Silver Award. The student team comprising Li Hanqiao (Class of 2023, Product Design), Liu Jinghan (Class of 2023, Product Design), Li Qinying (Class of 2023, Product Design), and Wang Fan (Class of 2024, Product Design) won the Bronze Award for their work Gilded Interlocking Branches Autumn-Singing Jar (supervised by Pan Zhitao and Wu Jiang, corporate mentor).
