Recently, the third workshop of the 2025 United States International Poster Biennial (USIPB), co-hosted by the School of Arts of Beijing City University and the China European International Design Culture Association (CEIDA), came to a successful close. Centered on the theme of “Design Empowers Social Reform” and brought together emerging designer talents from around the globe, this creative gathering attracted young designers worldwide and showcased the international influence of Chinese design education.

The workshop was led by the founder of USIPB, Professor Christopher Scott, from Iowa State University, and visual design master Professor Ryan Slone from Arkansas State University. Through online sessions, these two internationally acclaimed instructors provided intensive professional guidance covering from design philosophy to practical techniques.

Over the five-day intensive program, participants engaged in multidimensional explorations centered on the theme of “social reform”. From daily life insights and philosophical reflections to visual expression, they developed their ideas through brainstorming, iterative sketching, and teamwork, ultimately transforming their concepts into posters that are both intellectually profound and visually striking.

Works created by students from our university were highly praised by the instructors for their unique cultural perspectives and humanistic touch.

All outstanding works will be directly submitted to the 2025 USIPB and are scheduled for exhibition tours across the United States, Europe, and Asia. This global platform not only offers exposure for young designers but also transforms the power of design as fuel for social progress.
