School of Performing Arts Hosted Ms. Irene, Head of Asia-Pacific at Berkeley College of Music for International Collaboration Discussion

On March 19, Ms. Irene, Founder and CEO of Malaysia ICOM and Head of Asia-Pacific Region for Berkeley College of Music, visited Beijing City University’s Shunyi campus at the invitation of the School of Performing Arts for in-depth discussions on international exchange and cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting aimed to integrate high-quality educational resources from both sides and establish an innovative platform for music and arts education between China and abroad. Attendees include Chen Lin, Director of the School of Performing Arts; Wang Peng, Director of the music education major; and several faculty members.

Renowned globally for its programs in popular music, film scoring, music business management, and music composition, Berkeley College of Music maintains a curriculum closely linked to the global music industry and has nurtured numerous Grammy Award winners and influential music industry professionals. This discussion marks a further step in our school’s strategy to enhance international engagement. Looking ahead, both institutions will continue to engage in further discussions on international cooperation, providing more support for students in the music education program.
