University of Northampton Delegation Visited Our University

On March 18, a delegation from the University of Northampton UK, visited Beijing City University to explore potential collaboration opportunities between the two institutions. The two parties successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation in the field of education.

The delegation, led by Mr. Matthew Haines, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Committee Member at the University of Northampton, was warmly received by BCU. Attending the meeting were Ye Yingfang, Vice Chair of University Council, and Ma Wei, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office. Both sides held productive discussions covering extensive areas such as academic exchanges, student exchange programs and joint research.

During the meeting, representatives from both universities provided detailed introductions to their strong disciplines, teaching philosophies, and international development strategies respectively. The University of Northampton’s outstanding achievements in business and education align well with BCU’s practical, practice-oriented approach on cultivating applied talents, opening broad prospects for collaboration. Both parties agreed that international exchanges would allow students to experience diverse educational cultures and broaden their global perspectives, while joint research projects could integrate research resources and enhance academic excellence.

Following thorough communication and consultation, the two universities successfully signed the MOU. This agreement opens a new phase for both universities to advance hand in hand, share resources, and complement each other’s strengths. Both sides also expressed their commitment to using this opportunity to further refine cooperation plans, accelerate the implementation of collaborative projects, create more development opportunities for students and faculty, and jointly contribute to cultivating high-quality talents with international competitiveness.
