On April 19, the 15th National French Dubbing Competition for College Students held its national finals at Beijing Foreign Studies University. The team from our university’s School of International Culture and Communication, comprising Li Zonghan, Chen Muliang, Hou Yue, and Yan Yan, all sophomores majoring in French achieved outstanding results and won third prize in the national finals.

This year’s competition centered on the theme "Lumière" (Light), attracting over 30 universities that participated in the preliminary online rounds, with 12 teams advancing to the national finals, including representatives from our university, Beihang University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing Language and Culture University, University of International Business and Economics, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, National University of Defense Technology, University of International Relations, East China Normal University, Nankai University, and China Foreign Affairs University.
The final competition primarily involved live dubbing of a French film clip no longer than four minutes. Contestants were required not only to demonstrate fluent and authentic pronunciation but also to capture the precise emotions of the characters and vividly recreate the original atmosphere of the scene. Under the joint guidance of Chinese and foreign instructors, our French major team dedicated themselves to rigorous training, meticulously refining every detail of their dubbing. On stage, their seamless teamwork, expressive vocal performances, and compelling character interpretations earned high praise from the judges.
