Recently, Liu Jie, a 2022 English major student at our university, participated in the 2025 Singapore International (Youth) Piano Competition (SIYPC), winning the second prize in the Beijing division and advancing to the China finals. Her instructor, Mao Xue, received the Outstanding Instructor Award.
The Singapore International Piano Competition is organized by the Global International Musicians Association and is a member of the AAF International Events Alliance. The competition boasts top-tier industry resources, inviting renowned professors from world-leading music academies and distinguished pianists and educators to serve as judges, meeting the standards of a Category A international event. Over the years, it has attracted nearly 30,000 contestants from over 30 countries worldwide.
Under the guidance of Teacher Mao Xue, Liu Jie also achieved significant results in other competitions: she won the first prize in the preliminary round of the Third Piano and Composition Contest at the 2024 Yunnan International Piano Festival, the second prize in the preliminary round of the Chinese Works Category for the 2024 Global Music Educators Association's Young Artists Development Program in China, and the third prize in the China finals.
Since its establishment, the Aesthetic Education Center at our university has actively promoted aesthetic education activities within clubs, organizing teachers to provide personalized tutoring plans outside of class hours based on students' specialties and interests. Through practical competition experiences, the center provides more opportunities for exchange and platforms for showcasing talent. Students' repeated successes in competitions not only bring honor to the school but also enhance their own artistic levels and broaden their artistic horizons. In the future, the Aesthetic Education Center will continue to uphold the philosophy of "cultivating people through beauty," continuously improving teaching standards and service quality, actively nurturing well-rounded and outstanding talents.
