On July 1st, the Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino launched the 2024 Chinese Bridge Summer Camp and the Sixth "Across thousands of miles, Meeting in Beijing City University" themed summer camp at BCU. Seventeen outstanding students recommended by the Confucius Institute at the University of San Marino will embark on a two-week study tour in Beijing. Faculty from International Affairs Office, teachers and student representatives from School of International Culture and Communication (SICC) attended the opening ceremony.
Li Xuemeng, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, welcomed the students on behalf of the school. She encouraged them to immerse themselves in Beijing's culture, actively engage with locals and peers, broaden their horizons, deepen understanding, and contribute to youth exchanges between China, San Marino and Italy, as well as the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy Director of SICC, delivered a welcome speech, hoping that the participants would make new friends, interact positively with BCU students, and fully experience the rich culture of Beijing during the summer camp.
After the opening ceremony, the teacher Wang Lijian from the International Affairs Office gave a safety education lecture, emphasizing On-Campus and Off-Campus Safety Guidelines, aiming to ensure the safety of the participants during the summer camp.
The summer camp aims to promote exchanges among youths from China, San Marino, Italy, and surrounding European countries, deepen European youth's understanding of Chinese language and culture, and inspire their enthusiasm for learning Chinese.
