Professor Chen Qiurong's Lacquer Artwork Collected by China National Arts and Crafts Museum

From March to May, Homeland, a lacquer artwork by Professor Chen Qiurong—a master of arts and crafts and Director of the School of Cultural Heritage at our university—was exhibited at the 7th China Contemporary Arts and Crafts Biennale and subsequently added to the permanent collection of China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum from the China National Arts and Crafts Museum.

The China Contemporary Arts and Crafts Biennale stands as a prestigious event in China's arts and crafts sector, bringing together the nation's finest works to showcase excellence and foster industry exchange. Organized by the China National Arts and Crafts Museum and the Chinese National Academy of Arts, the 7th Biennale centered on the theme “The Spirit of Craftsmanship in Our Time”. The exhibited works covered a wide range of topics and styles, spanning over ten categories of arts and crafts including sculptural arts, embroidery, metalwork, ceramics, weaving, lacquerware, and glass. These works vividly illustrated the remarkable achievements in the preservation and innovation of China's arts and crafts heritage.
