From November 25th to 27th, a delegation from BCU visited the University of Guadalajara (UoG) in Mexico and visited the Confucius Institute of the University of Guadalajara jointly established by both BCU and UoG. During this visit, Wei Shuhua, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, and Edwin Bello Alfredo Ramirez, the local director of the Confucius Institute, accompanied the delegation throughout, providing strong support and ensuring the success of the exchange visit.

During the three-day visit, the delegation first engaged in friendly exchanges with the Proulex Language Center at UoG, talking about ongoing scholarship exchange programs. Additionally, the delegation visited the Confucius Institute (CI) and met with representatives of the CI teachers, conveying sincere regards to those dedicated to international Chinese language education representing BCU.

On the 26th and 27th, the delegation was invited to visit the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Económico Administrativas de la Universidad de Guadalajara (CUCEA) and the Centro Universitario de Arte, Arquitectura y Diseño de la Universidad de Guadalajara (CUAAD) at the University of Guadalajara. During these visits, four faculty members from BCU—Dr. Yu Lei from the School of Economics and Management, Prof. Zhang Weihua from School of Urban Construction, Prof. Wang Di from the School of Arts and Design, and Prof. Wei Xuan from the School of International Culture and Communication—delivered lectures on topics including "Development and Digital Empowerment of Geographical Indication Agricultural Products: Practices in China and Mexico," "The Application of Digital Technology in Historical Building Preservation," "The Beauty of Chinese Attire: The Evolution and of Traditional Chinese Clothing and its Modern Interpretation," and "Memories of Beijing: Urban Development Recorded by Images." These lectures, each presenting unique perspectives from their respective fields, explored the similarities and differences between coffee industries in China and Mexico, digital preservation of architecture, evolution of clothing design, and urban development documented through imagery, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience.

In subsequent talks, Luis Gustavo Padilla Montes, Dean of CUCEA, Francisco Javier González Madariaga, Dean of CUAAD, and Prof. Liu Jiaoyue, leader of BCU delegation, detailed distinctive program offerings and academic strengths of both institutions. Both sides reached cooperative intentions in areas such as student and faculty exchanges, collaborative development of specialized courses, and the establishment of cultural research centers.
This visit promoted comprehensive exchanges and cooperation between BCU and UoG. Both parties will continue to leverage the Confucius Institute as an important platform for collaboration, playing a crucial role in promoting educational and cultural exchanges, sharing teaching resources, disseminating culture, and fostering regional cooperation between China and Mexico.
Founded in 1792, the UoG ranks second among higher education institutions in Mexico, only behind the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Over two centuries, it has grown into a comprehensive university encompassing humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, technical sciences, economic management sciences, health sciences, and more. Since establishing inter-university cooperation in 2018, both universities have conducted various faculty and student exchange programs, Chinese language teaching practices, and joint research projects. In January 2023, the jointly established Confucius Institute officially opened and has become a significant institution for international Chinese education and the promotion of Chinese culture in Jalisco State.
