BCU held the 2023 welcome ceremony "The new generation shines, and you are the brightest star"

On September 20th and 21st, the welcome ceremony of 2023, "The new generation shines, and you are the brightest star", was held in Shunyi Campus and Hangtiancheng Campus respectively. University leaders, directors of functional departments and Schools of BCU and the 2023 fresh students from all over China and abroad gathered on the campuses to start a new journey together.

The President of BCU, Prof. Liu Lin, delivered a speech to extend a warm welcome and ardent hopes to all new students.

President Liu Lin hoped that the new students of 2023 learn four "BCU compulsory courses": the first course is "Responsibility", the second course is "Independence", the third course is "Practicability", and the fourth course is "Self-cultivation", and made a detailed exposition and requirements to the students on these four courses.

Two students, Luo Zhibo of School of Performing Arts and Tong Siyu of School of International Culture and Communication spoke as representatives of the 2023 freshmen, expressing their hopes for their future campus life and their determination to strive to become an idealistic, competent, and responsible BCU student.

The whole ceremony was full of splendor and highlights. The performance was divided into four chapters: "The Youth", "The Nation", "The Glory" and "The Power". A total of 13 programs, including dynamic songs and dances, ventriloquism, Beijing opera, international students' chorus, poem recitation, ballroom dancing, modelling show, etc., constituted a wonderful audio-visual feast, which embodied the energetic and enthusiastic features of BCU students, and demonstrated the mission and responsibility of the BCU youth in response to the call of the times. The celebration also invited representatives of freshmen to participate in hosting, so that they could share their moving stories with BCU.

The ceremony came to an end in the chorus of an original song "Youth Pledge". BCU students made a promise with the song that they would be pragmatic but ambitious, confident and courageous in the future campus life, write a youthful song worthy of the times, and compose a brand new chapter belonging to BCU students!
