On July 18, Beijing Pilot Work Promotion Meeting of the Cultivation of Excellent Community and Social Work Talents (Excellent Talent Program) and Special Training Supervision Meeting was held on Hangtiancheng Campus of Beijing City University (BCU). Xing Guili, Director and Zhu Jingyue, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Workforce Construction of the Municipal Social Work Committee and Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, relevant staff of the Municipal Project Office, associated personnel from the district-level Social Work Committee and Civil Affairs Bureau in Beijing, the municipal supervisory team of teachers of social work from BCU, the 16 district-level supervisors of Beijing, as well as the trainees of the Excellent Talent Program and others more than 210 relevant personnel attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Director Xing Guili made a mobilization speech. Representatives of previous excellent trainees and district-level supervisory units shared their experiences. Prof. Hu Yonghui, the municipal chief supervisor of Excellent Talent Program, introduced the overall promotion steps and specific requirements of the program to the trainees in detail. Ms. Li Mengjuan gave a feedback on the job training program of the 2023 Excellent Talent Program and conducted a special training on "Theory and Practice of Social Service Project Management". In the afternoon, 13 municipal supervisors led 16 district-level talents to carry out professional supervision.
The Excellent Talent Program is a talent cultivation program for community and social work implemented during Beijing's "14th Five-Year Plan", aiming at promoting the professionalization and vocationalization of community workers, and then providing talent support for the construction of grassroots social work service platforms. According to the relevant work arrangement, in 2023, the social work team of BCU will continue to provide professional supervision and follow-up guidance services for the 35 pilots in 16 districts of the fourth batch of the Excellent Talent Program, and continue to contribute to the cultivation of social work talents and the social construction of Beijing.
