In December 2021, BCU, together with the Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara and San Marino Confucius Institute, jointly held the "Step Into Poetry" Chinese character writing competition for international students. This competition attracted more than 30 students from Mexico, Italy, San Marino and other countries to participate in, which was a complete success.
The content of this competition is ancient Chinese poetry writing. In the end, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and a number of participation prizes will be selected.The first prize winner was a ZANNI FRANCESCA LI SIMEI, from San Marino Confucius Institute.
First prize winner ZANNI said: " I'm very happy that I participated in this competition and won the 1st place!This led me to further learn Chinese culture and poetry. Through writing The Still Night, I learned about the feelings the poet wanted to express about missing his hometown.”
Jorge, a contestant from Mexico, said: " I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate in the Chinese character writing competition. I hope to participate in more similar activities in the future.”
Chinese characters is one of the oldest characters in the world, with a history of more than 6,000 years. It is the treasure of Chinese culture for thousands of years and the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation.The competition has not only effectively enhanced the international students' knowledge and understanding of Chinese characters and Chinese poetry, but also improved their writing skills.
