On July 3rd, 2021, the first session of the Second Membership Representative Conference of BCU Alumni Association, also the homecoming event for alumni, was held in Shunyi Campus in BCU.
At 9am, the alumni attended the Grade 2021 Graduation Ceremony and listened to BCU President LIU Lin's speech. They enjoyed the happy campus atmosphere and shared the feeling of going back to school time. After the ceremony, the alumni visited the Shunyi campus, accompanied by BCU leaders and the teachers from the Alumni Association. They were attracted by training buildings of academic departments, laboratories with advanced equipment, vivid and amazing student works, etc., in front of which they were surprised to see the rapid development and change of BCU, and were encouraged by the efforts of all BCU members of each generation!
The alumni thanked BCU for its cultivation by leaving their wish cards in "Time-keeping Pavilion" and writing " Thank you, BCU!”,”Wait for me!", and said "I love BCU" altogether in the sunflower flowers area. At noon, President LIU and relevant leaders had lunch together with the alumni. President LIU shook hands with the alumni one by one to welcome them home. He was very happy to know the alumni’s current situation and achievements in work, and introduced the future development plan of the university. He hoped that BCU would always be the solid backing for the alumni as well as their honor.
At 1:30pm, the first session of the Second Membership Representative Conference of BCU Alumni Association was held on the west wing of the main building in Shunyi Campus. LIU Lin, President and Chair of University Council of BCU, QIN Shiyou, Vice President and Vice Chair of University Council of BCU, Vice Presidents YUAN Jia and LIAN Yuchun, and 53 association members attended the conference, which was presided over by Zhang Ying, General Secretary of the BCU Alumni Association.
President LIU firstly delivered his welcome speech and welcomed the alumni home again, expressing that BCU always attached great importance to the work of the Alumni Association. He hoped that the Alumni Association can play a broader role in connecting the university and the alumni, and play a stronger impetus to the university development. He also expressed his sincere thanks to the alumni for supporting BCU work, and suggested the alumni to cherish the great era, to work hard, to practice their original aspiration, and to live up to the generation and youth. At last, he wished the conference a complete success.
The first Board’s work report, finance report, and Supervisory Board’s work report, amended draft Constitute, Method for Selecting Membership Representative of BCU Alumni Association, and Election Method for the Second Board of BCU Alumni Association were deliberated and approved in the conference. The list of supervisors and counters was approved, and the list of candidates for new board members and supervisors were introduced, as well as the procedures to select the final members. By secret ballot, the new board members and supervisors were elected. Later on, the first conference of second Board and Supervisors was held, and the Chairman of Board and Chairman of Supervisory Board, the Vice Chairman of Board and General Secretary were elected finally.
On the conference, Mr. LI Ran, alumnus from Grade 1994, President and General Manager of Huayuan Real Estate, and Mr. LIU Lihong, alumnus from Grade 2008, national first-level artist, paper-cutting book writer delivered speeches as alumni representatives. Mr. LI Ran was excited about BCU’s development level and scale. Recalling the time of firstly entering BCU and now looking at the development, he regarded this as the best honor provided by BCU! He mentioned that although he had graduated for many years, he still has deep feelings for the university. The education and training he gained in BCU, especially the spirit of innovation and hard work had a profound influence on him, and even became the core driving force for his career. Mr. LIU Lihong demonstrated his excellence in paper-cutting and his unique technique in cutting a zodiac pattern within 10 seconds. He said that the most important thing he gained in BCU was the learning philosophy of "little but fine" and "practical". He believes that no matter in what field, as long as one learns to the extreme, it is already the greatest harvest and success! He also brought his own paper-cut works presented to BCU, wishing more development and prosperity to the university.
At last, LIAN Yuchun, the newly inaugurated Chairman of Board of BCU Alumni Association, made a statement. He expressed his gratitude to all the alumni and members for their strong support to the work of the Alumni Association, and exchanged the idea for future development plan. He hoped that the Association would achieve solid progress in the work, improve the work level, and better serve all alumni. He firmly believes that the new Board and the Supervisory Board will lead the Alumni Association to open a new chapter of work, help other and achieve prosperity in the future!
