On November 28, the inaugural the case release event “Outstanding Cases of Chinese Culture Going Global from the Perspective of World Civilization Exchanges and Mutual Learning” was held at the Fengtai Campus of Minzu University of China. Scholars and experts gathered to discuss strategies for enhancing the global reach and influence of Chinese culture, contributing disciplinary insights to deepen cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding.

The campaign to collect outstanding examples of Chinese culture going global from the perspective of world civilization exchanges and mutual learning was officially launched in May this year. The case report submitted by our university — “From Language and Media to Cultural Co-Creation: Innovative Practices of an Urban Application-Oriented University in Promoting Chinese Culture Globally” —was selected as one of the outstanding cases.
At the event, Zhao Wei, a faculty member in communication major from our university, delivered a keynote presentation. She introduced how the School of International Culture and Communication leverages innovative platforms such as the “China–International Youth Workshop” to deeply integrate language, media, and cultural co-creation. She further shared how application-oriented universities like ours can carve out unique pathways for Chinese cultural outreach with the support of specific practical scenarios and local cultural resources.

The forum was hosted by the School of Journalism and Communication at Minzu University of China, and co-organized by the Research Center Chinese Ethnic Cultures Communication (Minzu University), our School of International Culture and Communication, and the Institute for Digital and Intelligent Communication at our university. It brought together nearly 100 faculty members and students from over ten universities across Beijing and beyond, along with industry experts from institutions including China International Communication Group, the International Communication Planning Bureau of China Media Group, and the China Public Relations Association. More than ten faculty members from our School of International Culture and Communication attended the event, contributing professional expertise in advancing the international communication of Chinese culture.
