Faculty and Students of Beijing City University Achieve Outstanding Results in the Fourth "Beijing-A Global City" Short Video Contest

Recently, the award ceremony of the Fourth “Beijing-A Global City” Short Video Contest concluded successfully at the China National Film Museum. Gong Yu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing City University, attended the ceremony as a guest presenter. In this competition, multiple student works from our university stood out, securing top honors including the First Prize, while the School of International Culture and Communication was awarded the Best Organization Award, and Xu Jin, a master’s program supervisor in the Broadcasting and Television Directing program, received the Excellent Mentor Award.

Leveraging its professional strengths, the School of International Culture and Communication actively participated in shooting activities organized by the contest’s hosts, providing students with rich thematic resources and broadening their creative perspectives. The faculty also established a specialized creation training camp, guiding students to adopt a humanistic lens and employ narrative styles and forms of expression resonant with younger audiences. Their works focused on the study, life, work, and cultural experiences of foreign nationals in Beijing, capturing their travel, study, career journeys, and daily lives. Through the unique perspectives of these international participants, the videos showcased Beijing’s distinctive charm, global appeal, and inclusive spirit, enriching the multicultural narrative of Beijing’s international image.

Hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government and organized by International Online, with guidance from the Information and Communication Bureau of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Information Department, the contest invited Beijing residents, foreign nationals passionate about Beijing, and local institutions to submit works that highlight the city’s vitality, diversity, and warmth as a global metropolis. The competition attracted participants from over 100 countries and regions worldwide, with more than 270 entries submitted.
