BCU Faculty Conduct Academic Exchange in Uzbekistan and Sign Cooperation Memorandum

From April 6th to 9th, 2025, at the invitation of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Uzbekistan, faculty members Li Bing and Wang Jingyu from the School of Cultural Heritage at Beijing City University traveled to the Republic of Uzbekistan for academic exchange activities.

The delegation first visited the historic city of Samarkand, where they met with Professor Zou Tongqian, a Chinese Vice President of the host university. During the meeting, they presented a commemorative gift from Beijing City University and engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening collaboration. Subsequently, the delegation attended a carpet-themed exhibition and related academic activities organized by the university’s Silk Road International Research Institute. On behalf of the Faculty of Cultural Heritage at Beijing City University, Professor Li Bing formally signed an cooperation memorandum with Professor Yusupova, Dean of the Silk Road International Research Institute. During the exchange, Professor Li Bing delivered an academic lecture titled “Patterns and Regional Studies of Chinese Imperial Carpets from the 15th to 19th Centuries,” which received high acclaim from attending experts and scholars.

This exchange further strengthened academic collaboration between the two institutions in the field of cultural heritage and contributed actively to enhancing cultural ties between China and Uzbekistan.
