On November 25, 2024, the San Marino University Confucius Institute and the Vicenza Italian Shaolin Medicine Center held a memorandum signing and plaque presentation ceremony to designate themselves as "Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Culture Promotion Partner Institutions." Guo Xiaoxia, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, Leo Chen, the Director of the Medical Center, Roberto Ciambetti, President of the Veneto Regional Council, and Cecchetto Milena, a representative from the Veneto Regional Health Department, delivered speeches at the event. Over one hundred guests from various cities in San Marino, Switzerland, and Italy attended the ceremony. Reporters from Italian national television Rai, Corriere del Veneto, Saragoni (a local newspaper in Vicenza), and Xinhua News Agency covered the event.

This collaboration aims to build upon existing partnerships and delve into how TCM culture can be promoted in San Marino, Italy, and other European countries and regions. Additionally, the feasibility of conducting "Chinese + TCM" language teaching will be explored.

The event included a series of cultural activities related to TCM, such as lectures on TCM knowledge, Tai Chi demonstrations, and tea art appreciation sessions, all centered around the concept of medicinal food with shared origins and the balance of Yin and Yang. These activities aim to use TCM culture as a bridge to attract more people to visit the Confucius Institute and experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture.
