On November 30th, the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara (CI at UoG) welcomed representatives from ten publishing houses including China International Book Trading Corporation, Tsinghua University Press, Higher Education Press, Jiangxi University Press, and Jiangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, to host a book donation ceremony titled "Bridging Hearts through Books—Building a Cultural Bridge between China and Mexico."

On the day of the event, about one hundred people, including representatives from the Proulex Language Center of UoG, CI faculty and students, and enthusiastic locals, gathered at the Confucius Institute to witness this cultural event. Reporters from Xinhua News Agency's Guadalajara branch were also present to capture this memorable moment.
This event coincided with the Guadalajara International Book Fair, the world’s second-largest international book fair, which serves as an important platform for promoting exchanges between civil society and academia. Against this backdrop, the China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation organized domestic publishers to participate in the fair and proactively offered to donate approximately two hundred of the latest Chinese books to the Confucius Institute, showcasing the latest achievements of China’s publishing industry and further enhancing the international dissemination and influence of Chinese culture.

At the beginning of the event, Ms. Alejandra Orozco de la Mora, the local representative from the Proulex Language Center, delivered a warm welcome speech, highly praising the significance of the event and expressing hopes for more similar cultural events in the future. Following her, dignitaries such as Ms. Zhang Shuping from China International Book Trading Corporation, Chairman Qiu Xianqing from Tsinghua University Press, Chief Editor Tan Fangzheng from Higher Education Press, Chairman Yuan Xingyuan from Jiangxi University Press, Chief Editor Huang Zhen from Jiangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, and President Yin Zhiyong from Changjiang Literature & Art Press also addressed the audience, hoping that this book donation ceremony would serve as a bridge to enhance mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Mexico.
The highlight of the event was a series of dance and song performances by teachers and students from the Confucius Institute. Ms. Wei Shuhua, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute, gave a speech and presided over the certificate presentation ceremony. She reviewed the development journey of the Confucius Institute, highlighted the importance of this event, and extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all representatives. During the donation session, representatives from the publishing houses showcased their latest sample books, and the Confucius Institute presented donation certificates and exquisite gifts to the donating publishers.
After the ceremony, representatives from the publishing houses visited the Confucius Institute and had friendly conversations with the teachers. This book donation not only deepened the friendship between the peoples of China and Mexico but also laid a solid foundation for deeper cultural exchanges between the two countries. Through this event, finely published books from Chinese publishers reached Mexican readers, offering them opportunities to engage with and understand the essence of Chinese culture, thereby injecting new vitality into Sino-Mexican cultural exchanges.
