A delegation from Hong Kong Metropolitan University visited Beijing City University.

On June 12th, Associate Vice Chancellor Guan Qingping of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) led a delegation to visit Beijing City University (BCU). Ye Yingfang, Vice Chair of University Council of BCU, along with teachers in charge of the School of Information, School of Urban Construction, and the International Affairs Office, participated in receiving the guests.

Ye Yingfang and Guan Qingping introduced the basic information, school orientation, development history, and future plans of their respective universities. As two applied universities, they conducted extensive discussions on potential future cooperation and reached a cooperation intention. Wang Fuli, Dean of the School of Science and Technology at HKMU, had in-depth exchanges with School of Information Science and Engineering and School of Urban Construction of BCU, on cooperation in faculty research and teacher-student exchanges.

Previously, Wong Yuen-ha, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at HKMU, visited our School of Biomedicine. Both parties negotiated under the framework of the inter-university cooperation agreement and ultimately reached a cooperation intention in nursing, rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine, and other majors, aiming to jointly carry out student training and scientific research cooperation.

The delegation also visited the training center of the School of Information Science, School of Urban Construction, and the School of Arts and Crafts, highly praising the talent training characteristics, hardware facilities, university-enterprise cooperation, and teaching achievements of each school.

Founded by the Hong Kong government in 1989, HKMU is the third university in Hong Kong to award degrees. In March 2024, it became the first applied science university in Hong Kong.
