On June 3rd and 4th, the faculty of Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara (CIUG) was invited by the Student Activities Department of University of Guadalajara (UoG) to participate in cultural events at two affiliated high schools of UoG.
The first event was hosted by San José del Valle High School, and the second by Regional El Salto High School. At both events, teachers Huang Yanxiao and Li Xueming presented traditional Chinese dance performances, immersing the students in the unique charm of Chinese dance through graceful movements. Teacher Zhao Tong introduced the CIUG and provided detailed information about its Chinese language courses, cultural activities, and scholarship programs.
Teachers Yu Yehui and Zhang Hao delivered engaging Chinese cultural lectures on June 3rd and 4th, respectively. Teacher Yu’s lecture focused on tea ceremony, introducing the traditional Chinese tea culture to the students at San José del Valle High School and demonstrating tea art while inviting the audience to taste tea. Teacher Zhang presented a lecture on Tai Chi, showcasing the philosophical concept of yin and yang in Chinese culture to the students at Regional El Salto High School and leading them through the experience of Yang-style Tai Chi. Both lectures deepened the students' understanding and appreciation of Chinese traditional culture, and the lectures received enthusiastic applause throughout.
The events not only deepened Mexican students' understanding of Chinese culture but also created favorable conditions for the CIUG to promote itself within the high schools.
