On April 19th, a four-member delegation from the University of Ulster, UK, led by Pro.Catrin Rhys, Head of the Department of Arts and Humanities, School of Journalism and Communication and Ms.Angela Zhang, China Recruitment Officer, visited Beijing City University. The delegation was received by Pro.Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy Director of the School of International Culture and Communication, Pro.Wei Xuan, Director of the Communication Department, and Ms.Ren Yue, International Cooperation Representative of Communication Department,.


Pro. Catrin Rhys delivered a lecture on Trends in UK Media Development to students of the Communication program. The lecture broadened the students' international perspective, enhanced their cross-cultural communication skills, and provided new ideas for studying abroad and personal development.

During the teacher exchange session, the two universities discussed the implementation of a dual-degree program for students of the Communication (International Class) program.They also reached a consensus on organizing short-term exchange programs for students to visit the UK every March.

The University of Ulster was founded in 1969 and is the largest university in Northern Ireland, UK. It has won the Sunday Times University of the Year award and was ranked as one of the top 10 most popular universities in the UK. The School of Journalism was rated as the best journalism school among more than 80 journalism schools across the UK. It is the only school in the UK that has received dual accreditation from both print and broadcast professional bodies.
