On April 17th, a four-member delegation from the University of Girona, Spain, led by Dr. José María Pérez Cuartas, Director of the Comparative Cultural Studies Center and Professor of Legal History, and Dr. Manuel Vilar Dumas, Deputy Director, visited Beijing City University. The delegation was received by Pro.Liu Jiayue, Deputy Director of the School of International Culture and Communication, Pro.Zheng Siyuan, Director of the Spanish Department, and Ms.Chen Jiaqi, a faculty member.

During the meeting, School of International Culture and Communication and the University of Girona reached a series of cooperative intentions, including the launch of a 3+1+1 advanced translation and Latin American studies exchange program for undergraduate students. Participating students will have the opportunity to obtain a university-master's degree from the University of Girona after completing their fourth year of study, and could directly pursue a master's degree at the University of Girona or the Autonomous University of Barcelona (ranked 149th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings) after graduating. Additionally, the two universities discussed plans for teacher exchange programs and further education.


After the meeting, the two professors from the University of Girona introduced the city culture of Girona, the University of Girona, and the program content to undergraduate students in their first to third years of study. The students responded enthusiastically to the opportunity to pursue a master's degree.
