The Programme Closing Ceremony of 2023 Chinese Language Training Programme for international students was held successfully

On 19th December, the programme closing ceremony of 2023 Chinese Language Training Programme for international students was successfully held. International students from Mexico and Bolivia and Chinese students got together to celebrate the successful completion of the programme. Li Xuemeng, Deputy Director of International Affairs Office, and Liu Shujia, Deputy Secretary of Youth League Committee, attended the event. Wang Lijian, the Coordinator of International Students of International Affairs Office, hosted the event.

Li Xuemeng recalled the initial intention and vision of the programme, and encouraged the students to continue to learn more about Chinese culture and language. She hoped that when the students return to Mexico, they could share with their family members and friends what they have seen, heard and felt in China, so as to allow more foreigners to know about the current Chinese society and Chinese culture. Liu Shujia, on behalf of BCU, awarded programme certificates to the students, congratulated them on their successful completion of the programme, and wished the Chinese and international students could cherish the deep friendship made in BCU, strive to improve their cross-cultural communication skills, and do a good job as ambassadors of Chinese-foreign cultural exchanges.

During the report performance, the international students recited the poems they had studied in Chinese language classes, such as "The Joyful Rain at a Spring Night", "An Overlook of the Capital City in Spring", "On the Pond", etc., sang the songs of "Jasmine Flower" and "Together for a Shared the Future", demonstrated the calligraphy work "BCU, I Want to Say to You", and played the self-made short videos on the theme of "Beijing in My Eyes", which was a rich and colourful performance and fully showed the fruitful achievements of the international students' study in BCU.

Rafael, a student representative, said that his study here not only helped him to make rapid progress in his Chinese language, but also made him appreciate the profoundness of Chinese culture. Memo, another student representative, said he was very grateful for this opportunity to study in BCU, and he would cherish this memory with the people here and invite more people to come to Beijing and BCU to have a visit.
