Recently, Mr. Shen Jianlei, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Italy and San Marino, and his delegation visited the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino and had a discussion with Barbara Terenzi, President of the China-San Marino Friendship Association, the staff of the Confucius Institute and the heads of the local Chinese medicine clinics in San Marino.

Shen Jianlei and his delegation visited the Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino, learned about the history and important events of the Confucius Institute's establishment, affirmed the efforts made by the staff of Confucius Institute in developing the characteristics of TCM, proposed the vision of multi-party cooperation to jointly promote the development of TCM culture, and conveyed the greetings of the Chinese Embassy in Italy and San Marino to the staff of the Confucius Institute.

The visit of Mr. Shen provided an opportunity for the Confucius Institute to get acquainted with the researchers and practitioners of TCM in Italy and San Marino. In the following Annual Meeting of the Italian Society of TCM, Guo Xiaoxia, the Chinese Directer of the Confucius Institute, while reviewing the mission and the TCM characteristics of the Confucius Institute, put forward an initiation for the Confucius Institute to play a role as a bridge for the intercollegiate, inter-school and inter-enterprise research related to TCM, and to carry out the practice of TCM science and technology.
