On January 6th, the Winter Camp on the theme of "Across Thousands of Miles to Meet in the Beijing City University", which was jointly organized by BCU and the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino, was successfully concluded.
The Winter Camp lasted for 12 days, in addition to the learning of the Chinese language classes like HSK3, tourism Chinese, etc., it also opened the theme lectures of Architectural Art in the Palace Museum, China's World Heritages, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Arts and Crafts, Chinese Food Culture, Chinese Traditional Festival customs, etc. During the study tours, the students were taught the philosophy of ancient Chinese architecture, the culture of the zodiac, the customs of the Spring Festival, and the art of modern Chinese architecture, and other topics that encompassed the values of ancient China as well as the responsibility and accountability of modern China. Through the winter camp, students learned about the customs and habits of Beijing and its rapid changes from local residents, and felt the history and charm of the ancient capital Beijing.


During the programme closing ceremony, Wang Lijian, the staff from International Affairs Office of BCU, presented the certificates and souvenirs to the students and congratulated them on their successful completion of the programme. It is hoped that the students will keep their enthusiasm for Chinese language learning and share their own understandings of Beijing and China to the people around them when they return to their hometowns, and we hope to have the opportunity to meet with all of the participants again in China in the future!


Lizzo Elena and Caliaro Massimo, two foreign teachers of the Confucius Institute of the University of San Marino, also came to BCU with the winter camp group for exchange and learning. Massimo said that the experience he learned in the Chinese language class was very inspiring for him, and that the rich and colorful cultural activities also made the students learn from the joyfulness.
Cecilia, the student representative, said that the Chinese students helped them a lot in their study and outings, and she would like to invite her Chinese friends to visit Italy, and in the future she would like to come back to China to study architecture.
