Confucius Institute at University of San Marino and Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara in Mexico successfully held their board meetings for the year 2023

Recently, the board meetings of the Confucius Instiutes at University of San Marino and the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara, jointly established by Beijing City University, University of San Marino, and the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, were held at BCU. Vice Chair of University Council of BCU,Pro.Ye Yingfang, attended the meetings and delivered a speech. Members of the board, directors from the two Confucius Institutes, as well as relevant personnel from the International Affairs Office, attended the meetings.

In her speech, Pro.Ye affirmed the positive contributions made by the Confucius Institutes in promoting cultural exchanges between China and San Marino, as well as China and Mexico, and in facilitating academic exchanges and research cooperation between the two universities. She expressed the expectation of further deepening intercollegiate cooperation. BCU will seek more opportunities for exchange and joint research with the University of San Marino and the University of Guadalajara, continue to deepen cooperation, promote common development, and constantly explore and innovate.

During the meetings, Guo Xiaoxia, the Chinese director, Karen, the foreign director of the Confucius Instiutes at San Marino University, Wei Shuhua, the Chinese director, and Edwin, the foreign director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara, respectively presented the work reports and financial reports for the year 2023. The board members carefully listened to the reports and conducted in-depth discussions on the work plan for the year 2024. The board approved the work reports and financial reports of Confucius Instiutes at San Marino University and the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara, and reached a broad consensus on future development matters.


The Confucius Instiutes at San Marino University was established in 2015, making it the third Confucius Institute globally and the first one on the European continent focusing on traditional Chinese medicine. Over the years, the Institute has been committed to the development of Chinese language + traditional Chinese medicine, promoting promotion of Chinese language and culture as well as traditional Chinese medicine culture in San Marino and surrounding cities in Italy.


The Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico was authorized in 2021. In just two years, it has taught Chinese to more than 700 students and offered Chinese language courses in 22 secondary schools in Guadalajara. It has become the only HSK test center in western Mexico and has organized a variety of cultural exchange activities between China and Mexico.




During December and January, winter camp students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara and Confucius Instiutes at San Marino University will visit Beijing successively to embark on a two-week Chinese cultural journey. During their stay, the International Affairs Office will offer Chinese language courses, cultural lectures, traditional cultural workshops, and organize various field trips for the winter camp students of the two Confucius Institutes.
