On December 24th, the Winter Camp on the theme of "Across Thousands of Miles to Meet in the Beijing City University", which was jointly organized by BCU and the Confucius Institute of the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, was successfully concluded.

The winter camp lasted for 14 days. In addition to HSK3 Chinese language class, business Chinese, tourism Chinese, the program also offered courses on Contemporary China, China's World Heritage, the Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Traditional Arts and Crafts, the 24 Solar Terms, and the Customs of Traditional Chinese Festivals. In conjunction with study tours, the Winter Camp students were taught about the architectural arts of the Palace Museum, the Summer and Winter Olympic Game city---Beijing, the transformation of the Winter Olympic Game legacy, Chinese Spring Festival customs, Winter Solstice customs, and other topics that encompassed the values of ancient China as well as the responsibility and accountability of modern China. The students visited the famous sights, got familiar with Chinese public's life, and experienced the history and charm of Beijing in snows.

During the programme closing ceremony, Wang Lijian, the staff from International Affairs Office of BCU, presented the certificates and souvenirs to the students and congratulated them on their successful completion of the programme. It is hoped that the students can continue to study Chinese language when they return to Mexico, and share what they have seen, heard and felt in China with their families and friends.
Fernanda (Le Yi), a student representative, said that she has been studying Chinese for one and a half years and has learned about Chinese culture and the philosophy of Confucius before. Through this Winter Camp, she has learned more about Chinese culture and visited the Kongmiao and Imperial College Museum, which has allowed her to have a colorful journey.
Natalia, another student representative, said that the Winter Camp has fulfilled many of her wishes. She tasted Chinese food, saw the beautiful sceneries of China, made Chinese friends, and a lot of interesting and unforgettable things also happened here, which make her want to come back to Beijing again.
