Recently, School of Urban Constructioninvited Pro.Peter McPherson, the Dean of the School of Architecture of UNITEC, and Pro.Su Bin, a tenured professor, conducted a special lecture. The Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, Ms.Li Xuemeng, architectural faculty, Mr.Xu Chen, and over 150 students attended the lecture. The lecture was hosted by Mr.Xu Zhenhua, an architectural faculty member, and translated by Ms.Cai Jiaqi from the International Affairs Office.
Dean Peter introduced the design concepts and processes of typical high-rise buildings around the world, and patiently answered questions raised by the students. Pro.Su introduced research results on safety and thermal comfort in urban and architectural environment design. He analyzed the impact of design factors on building thermal comfort and energy efficiency under different climate conditions. Pro.Su also introduced the educational background of New Zealand, the program offerings, academic strengths, international exchange situations, and career prospects at Unitec Institute of Technology.
This lecture expanded the students' international perspective in their field of study, providing them with a better understanding of relevant information about studying abroad at UNITEC. It has given students a clearer understanding of their future professional development and study plans.
