Recently, the students majoring in Communication (Grade 2021 and Grade 2022) and international students from School of Culture and Communication (SICC) visited the headquarters of Douyin Group, led by Prof. Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy director of the SICC and the teacher from International Affairs Office.

Before the study trip, students in communication major and international students formed study groups to carry out a thematic study with the topic on “Chinese and Foreign youths’opinions on short video platforms in social media", and made one-minute short videos around the topic in groups. After arriving at the headquarters of Douyin Group, the staff of introduced the history of the enterprise, the main products and businesses to the students. Each group made a formal report and presentation of their group work, and listened to the opinions and suggestions of the industry experts. The staff of the Douyin Jianying team also introduced the short video template creation skills to the students, and encouraged the students to use their ingenuity and actively participate in the creation of the short video template. International students also took this opportunity to learn plenty of Chinese expressions related to short videos and improve their Chinese language application ability.

Through the study trip, the ability of students to cooperate in research and study, and their application ability has been improved, and the confidence of students to serve the new era with innovation and creativity has also been strengthened.
