The faculty members of the School of International Culture and Communication have received the Second Prize of the 13th College Awards of the Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art

On October 21st, 2022-2023 film and television works promotion activity on the 23rd annual conference of Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art and 13th Academy Award ceremony was held on Beijing Film Academy's Huairou campus. Nearly 800 experts and scholars from universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Normal University, Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, University of Macau, and Macau University of Science and Technology attended the event. The work Jiao Tong Cheng Yu created by Pro.Liu Xilei, Pro.Zhou Weiwei, Pro.Wang Wenxiao, Pro.Liu Pei, and Pro.Xu Jin from School of International Culture and Communication of BCU won the second prize in the documentary unit (teacher group) of the 13th Academy Award.

As a tribute film commemorating the 100th anniversary of Mr.Jiao Yulu's birth, Jiao Tong Cheng Yu was co-produced by CCTV.com and Tencent Multimedia Laboratory, and produced by Orange Heart (Beijing) International Culture Media Co., Ltd. Pro.Liu Xilei, a faculty member of BCU, served as the screenwriter, and Mr.Li Xin as the director. Ms.Zheng Yuting, an industry mentor in the field of MFA radio and television, served as the producer, while Pro.Zhou Weiwei, Pro.Wang Wenxiao, Pro.Liu Pei, and Pro.Xu Jin were responsible for literary planning. Ms.Yang Yi, an outstanding student majoring in radio and television at BCU, served as the literary coordination.

Jiao Tong Cheng Yu was filmed in four cities and focused on the inheritance of Mr.Jiao's family virtues, telling the touching story of Mr.Jiao's transformation from a rural boy to a hero of his time. It aims to present a more authentic and contemporary image of Jiao Yulu, particularly emphasizing his emotional connection with his family. The Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission highly praised the theme and narrative of the film and arranged for its release and promotion on various platforms, including People.cn, Xinhua Net, CCTV.com, Xuexi.cn, CCTV Video, CCTV Mobile TV, Tencent News, Baidu, Douyin, NetEase, Sohu, Yidian Zixun, and the Paper.com.

The recognition received from the judging committee of the College Awards is a great affirmation of BCU teaching philosophy and the professional competence of faculty. It also represents a significant achievement of our faculty and students' active participation in social service activities.

The Chinese Collegial Association for Visual Art is a national-level association registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs and supervised by the National Radio and Television Administration. It is a national platform that encourages the creation of film and television works by university faculty and students, and conducts evaluations from an academic and professional perspective. The College Awards were established in 2006 and differ from government and social awards by using specialized terms from the film and television industry as award names to conduct professional evaluations of film and television works.
