On June 10, the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, a lecture on intangible cultural heritage was held at the Phoenix Center in Beijing, planned and hosted by Aesthetic Education Center of Beijing City University (BCU). The lecture was one of the series of activities of the 2023 Kaleidoscope Beijing Excellence Youth Art Festival, which aims to build a platform for academic communication and creative sharing among young artists from Beijing colleges and universities, to promote conversations among teachers and students from art colleges at various levels, to showcase the achievements of higher education in Arts in Beijing, to fully demonstrate the vigorous, righteous and innovative spirit of contemporary youth, and further to strengthen the cultural centre function of Beijing.
Ms.Yin Xiuyun, Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts, and Ms. Jin Xin, Beijng Municipal-level Master of Arts and Crafts, were invited to deliver an academic lecture. Ms. Yin Xiuyun gave the lecture on "The Past and Current Situation of Carved Lacquer", introducing in detail the development history and creation process of carved lacquer, and had an intimate conversation and professional interaction with the students. The atmosphere was warm and the students generally said that the lecture enabled them to understand and love the craft of lacquer carving more.

Ms. Jin Xin's gave an academic lecture on "Beijing Embroidery", introducing the history and current development of Beijing embroidery in detail, as well as the cultural and commercial value of this craft, which increased the students' interest in studying the heritage of Beijing embroidery.

In the lecture, students from BCU learned knowledge and gained creative inspiration through eager discussions with Ms. Yin Xiuyun and Ms. Jin Xin. The students then combined their own creative practice with mutual communication and learning, which could promote their future career development.
