The China-Africa Audiovisual Festival was successfully held at Beijing City University

On May 31st, at the invitation of the School of International Culture and Communication,The China-Africa Audiovisual Festival was successfully held on HangtianCheng Campus of BCU. Pro.Zhang Yong, the chief director of the documentary Chinese Meet Africa and a doctoral supervisor in the College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University, attended the screening and exchange meeting as the representative of the curatorial team.

During the event, Pro.Wang Wenxiao, the Deputy Dean of the School of International Culture and Communication and the leader in charge of the MFA Broadcasting and Television field, introduced the exhibition. The event featured screenings of the drama film Fearless Train and two documentaries The Last Bookstore and Chinese Meet Africa. Pro.Liu Xilei, an academic tutor of the School of International Culture and Communication, as well as young teachers Ms.Li Yan, Mis.Guo Yuqing exchanged creative ideas with Pro.Zhang Yong. Pro. Zhang also answered questions from students on the spot and shared his experiences in the creative production process, which greatly benefited the students.

China-Africa Audiovisual Festival is the first professional exhibition in China with a focus on China-Africa themed works. It is guided by the International Cooperation Department of the National Radio and Television Administration, hosted by Zhejiang University, and undertaken by the College of Media and International Culture and the Research Institute of Broadcasting of Film and Television of Zhejiang University, with curated by the China-Africa Audio-Visual Studio. It not only promotes communication between Chinese and African youth but also broadens the cultural exchange horizons of students, providing them with ideas for telling China's story through audio-visual works.
