The Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara successfully held the Visual Image Design Competition between China and Mexico

From October to December 2022, the Visual Image Design Competition for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico hosted by the Confucius Institute was held in Beijing City University and the University of Guadalajara, and received a warm response among students majoring in art and design from the two universities.

The competition focused on the theme of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico and the friendship between the two countries. Students of the two universities freely conducted artistic image design, submitted posters and design ideas containing various application scenarios, reflecting the understanding of the culture and history of China and Mexico. The competition was supported by School of Art and Design at Beijing City University and School of Arts, Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara. Professional teachers from the two universities and the Chinese and foreign directors from the Confucius Institute formed a Panel to publicly review and mark the 44 works from all the participants, and finally awarded the first, second, third prizes and the excellence awards of the two competition divisions respectively.

The competition shows the understanding of Chinese culture of the students from the School of Art, Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. The images of Chinese dragon and bamboo are better reflected in the design elements, which is refreshing. Judge from the art and design major of Beijing City University spoke highly of the winning works.

The work brought by AURA DANIELA CARDENAS MORALES, a student from School of Arts, Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara, made the 50th anniversary design with Chinese dragons and Mexican feather snake. She said the two totems, beloved by people from the two countries represent power and demonstrate the long civilization and history of the two countries.
