Beijing City University 2022 Summer Course Opening Ceremony

On July 11th, the 2022 summer course conducted by Beijing City University(BCU) was officially started. Students from our Mexican partner universities and local residents participated.

During the opening ceremony, the program coordinator, Ms. Zhang Xiaoyue, gives a general introduction of China at first. Followed by a welcome speech delivered by Prof. Wei Shuhua, the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Guadalajara, encouraging students to learn more about the culture and language and enjoy the summer course.

ThenProf. Guo Xiaoxia, the Chinese director of San Marino Confucius Institute, made a keynote speech, titled "A Bite of China". The vivid narration gives the students a comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture from the aspects of history, food, scenic spots, modern life and so on, and makes the students have a strong interest in the follow-up courses.

Two-week summer course will be delivered in a blended teaching model, integrated live stream instruction and recorded courses, which gives student the opportunities to have plenty of time to acquire the knowledge and have better experience in practice with tutors. The course focuses on the Chinese culture, featured in business and tourism, delivered in lecture, workshop, seminar and simulation games. The course aims not only to give students a better understanding in the economic and tourism development in China, but also to have chance to experience the traditional Chinese arts and crafts by creating piece of arts

on their own.

BCU has organized various activities for overseas students, so that students can feel the modern development and historical civilization of China from multiple dimensions. This year witnesses the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Mexico. We believe this summer course will enhance the cooperation and friendship among youth from two countries and promote the business, trade and culture development of two countries.
