International Affairs Office held "Date with Spring -- Approaching Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest" with Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara and San Marino Confucius Institute in order to enrich our foreign teachers and international students’ spare time and deepen their understanding of Chinese traditional culture in March, receiving 30 videos from Britain, United States, Mexico, Italy and the other five countries. After the discussion and selection, the first prize, second prize and third prizes were finally selected.
Ms.Wei Shuhua, director of Confucius Institute at University of Guadalajara, Mexico, was invited to hold a workshop on "Date with Spring -- Approaching Chinese Painting Activity" for foreign teachers on 25th March. Ms.Wei introduced the history and classification of traditional Chinese painting and the origin of four treasures of the study and showed foreign teachers to learn the detailed painting method of plum blossom and chrysanthemum in Chinese painting. Later on, foreign teachers fully combined with their own artistic imagination to complete their own creative works.
At the end of this activity, Ms. Wei presented certificates and gifts to the foreign teachers who won in the "Date with Spring -- Approaching Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest". Barlow Daniel Alan from USA expressed that he is not interested in art but today he really had fun and felt relaxed in joining this culture activity.
