On November 4th, freshmen of Communication majors and minors participated in the Communication Course delivered by Professor Leanne Johnny from the Language Department of Algonquin College, with concerned offices and teachers of BCU participating in.
In this lecture, Prof. Leanne, from the perspective of cultural communication, discussed the influence of Emojis on communication. A variety of student-centered activities were carried out, in terms of heuristic questioning, group discussion, peer discussion, free questioning, etc.. These activities greatly improved students' classroom participation and stimulated students' enthusiasm. Then students actively discussed in the interactive session, which deepen their learning and understanding of Emojis.
At the end, the students expressed their appreciation to Prof. Leanne for her full preparation of the lecture.
This lecture is a new attempt to explore Sino-foreign joint teaching. It is reported that the one-year exchange program is jointly held by Algonquin College and BCU, aiming to provide students with higher education and overseas employment opportunities.
