On March 12, a delegation of eight members led by President Liu Jun of City University of Macau visited Beijing City University. The delegation was received by President Liu Lin, Academic Committee Director Guo Guangsheng, Deputy Party Secretary Ye Yingfang, and heads of relevant faculties and departments from our university.
The delegation toured Beijing City University's 40th Anniversary Special Exhibition, Interdisciplinary Collaborative Innovation Center, and Chinese Cultural Heritage Activation Center, among other facilities, speaking highly of the university's achievements in education, social services, scientific research, and international cooperation.
Following the tour, both institutions reached concrete agreements on multiple collaborative initiatives, including cultural exchange programs for Beijing-Macau youth, comparative studies on grassroots community governance, heritage conservation projects, and urban governance research. These cooperative projects are scheduled for imminent implementation.
In 2022, Beijing City University accepted an invitation to join the Global Alliance of Metropolitan Universities from City University of Macau, and has subsequently delivered keynote speeches for three consecutive years at the Presidential Forum on "University Development and Urban Sustainability."
City University of Macau is a private comprehensive university located in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China. The university ranked 89th in the 2020 ShanghaiRanking's Greater China Universities Ranking. From 2020 to 2022, its Tourism and Leisure Management discipline maintained a position in the top 20% globally in the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for three successive years. In 2023, the university's Social Sciences discipline entered the top 1% globally in the ESI rankings.
