Beijing City University faculty member Pan Geng was invited to participate in the parallel forum of the 69th Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), where she was honored with the "Outstanding Women Innovators Achievement Award."

The 69th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) was held at UN Headquarters from March 10 to 21, 2025. Pan Geng, a faculty member specializing in Broadcasting and Television Directing (Film and Television Creation) from Beijing City University's Faculty of Performance Arts, participated by invitation in a parallel forum titled "Empowering Women, Caring for Children with Autism" and the "Love and Hope" Special Art Exhibition at the UN Headquarters Diplomatic Conference Hall in New York, where she received the "Outstanding Women Innovators Achievement Award."

During the roundtable forum session, Pan Geng delivered a presentation titled "Literary Portrayal: Elevating Female Cognition and Respect in Society", where she synthesized her scholarly research and creative works focusing on women's themes. Drawing particularly from her recently published academic monograph on Chinese female representations, her performance works presented at Carnegie Hall in New York, and her current intangible cultural heritage-themed play creation for Beijing City University, she emphasized the vital role of literature, drama, and film/television in shaping female narratives. These artistic mediums, she argued, serve as powerful tools for documenting women's lived experiences, enhancing societal understanding of gender issues, and advancing global standards for gender equality and empowerment.

The forum brought together nearly 200 distinguished guests from across the globe. Among the honorees were preeminent figures from various fields, including Tu Youyou (Nobel laureate in Medicine), Chen Lihua (entrepreneur), Gu Yuehua (artist), Yue-Sai Kan (media mogul), Yu Dan (cultural scholar), Xu Gehui (TV host), Mary Cao (philanthropist), Zhou Li (writer), and Liang Zhouyang (social activist).

The successful convening of this forum not only provided an international platform for exchange and collaboration but also injected fresh momentum into global efforts to advance gender equality and protect children's rights.
