Two Products Designed by the Team of the School of Art and Design won 2024 Red Dot Award: Design Concept

On October 10th, the  2024 Red Dot Award: Design Concept was announced in Singapore. Under the guidance of teacher Qiu Qi, the student team from the Art Design Department of our school won two awards. The design work "Pocket Stove" developed by students Cui Runfeng, Wang Shuyu, and Cai Qing from the 2021 Industrial Design and Product Design majors, in cooperation with an enterprise, and the work "Truck Doors with Conveyor Belt" designed by student Wang Donglin from the 2023 Industrial Design major, both won the Red Dot Design Concept Award. At the invitation of the organizing committee, the award-winning faculty and student representatives attended the award ceremony in Singapore.

The award-winning work "Pocket Stove" is a lightweight stove designed specifically for hikers. It breaks through traditional thinking and hides the stove head inside, achieving a clean and simple appearance. Its characteristics include a compact size that is smaller than a can of cola, allowing it to be easily carried in a pocket or backpack. The stove head comes with an ignition device, and the firepower can be easily adjusted through a rotating knob, making it simple to operate.

The other award-winning work, "Truck Door with Conveyor Belt", integrates the functions of truck door panels, conveyor belts, stairs, and cargo transfer platforms, providing a more intelligent, safe, and efficient logistics loading and unloading solution. Not only does it improve the efficiency of cargo loading and unloading, as well as logistics transfer, but it also creates a more convenient and safe user experience, suitable for various scenarios in the logistics transportation process.

The Red Dot Award: Design Concept, established in 2005, is one of the most important awards in the global design field, known for its professionalism and high standards. It recognizes and rewards outstanding design works internationally, aiming to discover and commend innovative design concepts and achievements, laying the foundation for the high-quality development of future products.
