The Chairman of the San Marino-China Friendship Association visited BCU

On September 4th, Barbara Terenzi, the Chairman of the San Marino-China Friendship Association, visited Beijing City University along with two other representatives. They were received by Pro.Liu Lin, President of BCU, accompanied by Pro.Ye Yingfang, Vice Chair of University Council of BCU, and Ms.Li Xuemeng, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the establishment and development of the San Marino Confucius Institute, which was jointly built by BCU and the Republic of San Marino. They acknowledged the efforts made by both parties in this process and reached a consensus on further promoting people-to-people exchanges between China and San Marino, as well as conducting cooperation in education, arts, traditional Chinese medicine, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In 2015, BCU collaborated with the University of San Marino to establish the first and only Confucius Institute in this small European country with a population of only 30,000 people. It has served as a bridge for cultural exchange between China and San Marino. Since its first class in 2016 until the end of 2022, San Marino Confucius Institute has trained nearly a thousand students, achieving a breakthrough by offering Chinese language courses within the national education system of San Marino. It has also organized numerous cultural exchange activities in the local community, making significant contributions. The San Marino-China Friendship Association has always provided strong support and assistance, making an indelible and important contribution to the development of San Marino Confucius Institute.
