Opening Ceremony for China-Russia Cooperation and Exchange Center (By Beijing City University and Russia-China Foundation for Development of Education, Science and Technology)

The opening ceremony of China-Russia Cooperation and Exchange Center jointly established by Beijing City University and Russia-China Foundation for Development of Education, Science and Technology was successfully held on December 20th, 2021. Ye Yingfang, the Vice Chair of the University Council of BCU, and Cui Fan, the Secretary General of Russia-China Foundation for Development of Education, Science and Technology, were invited to the ceremony. Шевцов, Vice Director of Russian Agency for International Cooperation, Санакоев, Vice Chair of Russia-China Friendship Association, Мазей, Vice President of Foreign Affairs, Moscow State University, Елена, Vice President of International Cooperation, Herzen Normal University, Балбек, Director of Working Group to China, Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, as well as Director of university TV station, Cui Shan, Chair of Russia-China Foundation for Development of Education, Science and Technology also attended the ceremony online. BCU teacher and student representatives from School of Performing Arts and the School of International Culture and Communication participated in the ceremony, too.

 

 

Ye Yingfang, the Vice Chair of the University Council of BCU, addressed a welcome speech. She mentioned that the year 2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty on Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation. In face of the pandemic outbreak and the changeable world situation, China and Russia have always been united tightly. In this context, the establishment of China-Russia Cooperation and Exchange Center will push the exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia, especially the cultural exchanges among young people in two countries, to a higher level.

Шевцов, Vice Director of Russian Agency for International Cooperation, and Санакоев, Vice Chair of Russia-China Friendship Association, both expressed their strong support and assistance to the future exchange activities in the center, on behalf of governmental sector as well as non-governmental organization for foreign cooperation and exchanges. They hope that the newly established center will vigorously carry out exchanges and enhance youth friendship between two countries in the future.

Then Мазей, Елена, and Балбек delivered speeches respectively and all expressed their wishes for the prosperous development of the center and their willingness for constructing a youth exchange platform and launching diversified exchange and cooperation programs.

Cui Shan finally expressed her gratitude to all the guests and firmly believed that with the support of various parties, the center will continue to innovate, forge ahead and promote cultural exchanges between Chinese and Russian youth.

In addition, Tian Jiaqi, a BCU student representative majoring in Sports Dance from School of Performing Arts, also a current member of National Youth Team, expressed the thankfulness and expectation for the bright future of the center.

 

 

 

With the support and guidance of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation and the Russia-China Friendship Association, this center is co-initiated by Beijing City University and Russia-China Foundation for Development of Education, Science and Technology. It aims at cooperating with Russian universities, educational and cultural institutions, and focuses on promoting cultural exchange activities between Chinese and Russian youth, including art, sports and health disciplines, training and teacher-student communication, international academic conferences, international competitions and so on. In the future, a series of exchange activities will be launched to the public, such as Tchaikovsky International Art Summer Camp, Tchaikovsky International Youth Art Show, Repin Academy of Fine Arts International Art Summer Camp, Art Master Class, etc. At the same time, modern technical approaches will be adopted to build a platform for Russian youth to further understand Chinese culture, including master classes, workshops and cloud classes about intangible cultures such as traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese culture, in online and offline formats.
