San Marino Confucius Institute Hosts a Series of Cultural Experience Events for "International Chinese Language Day"

From April 13 to April 20, to celebrate the 7th "International Chinese Language Day," the San Marino Confucius Institute carefully planned and organized a series of vibrant cultural experience events centered around the theme "Chinese: Sparkling Colorful Dreams".

Taking into account the distribution of educational resources in San Marino, the CI innovated its approach by transforming what was originally planned as a large-scale centralized event into decentralized experiences across various teaching sites. The activities reached local high schools and two junior high schools, allowing more students to experience the charm of Chinese culture up close within their familiar campus environments.

At each teaching site, the CI's teaching team introduced students to representative traditional Chinese cultural experiences. The "Chan Hua" (traditional Chinese silk-wrapped flowers) workshop, an intangible cultural heritage craft, allowed students to handcraft exquisite traditional artworks, appreciating traditional Chinese aesthetics and craftsmanship with every twist and turn of the silk. The "Mahjong" experience, presented in a relaxed and engaging interactive format, helped students understand this popular traditional Chinese pastime and the social culture behind it. The atmosphere at the events was lively, with enthusiastic student participation that not only deepened their interest in learning Chinese but also enhanced their understanding of Chinese culture.

On the day, Participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters through brush and ink, and experience the unique charm of Tai Chi culture through the combination of movement and stillness.

Moving forward, the San Marino CI will continue to adapt to local conditions and innovate its outreach methods. By achieving broader participation and more direct cultural exchange, the CI remains committed to promoting the in-depth development of Chinese language education and cultural exchange.
