From November 14 to 16, 2025, the World Chinese Language Conference was held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing under the theme “Innovation Leads, Al Empowers: Learning Chinese Without Borders”. Vice President Zeng Yuhong of our university, together with Chinese and local directors of the Confucius Institutes at the University of Guadalajara (UdG, Mexico) and the University of San Marino—both co-established by our university—were invited to attend the conference. As the representative of the Chinese host institution of the CI at UdG, Vice President Zeng also participated in the “China-CELAC Forum of Education Development”.

At the parallel forum “2025 Global HSK Partners Conference”, the CI at UdG was awarded the title of “2025 Outstanding HSK Test Center”. This marks the first time the CI has received this honor since its establishment, signifying international recognition of its educational quality and service capabilities, and fully demonstrating the solid results of the cooperative efforts between our university and UdG.

During the conference, Zeng Yuhong met with Mr. Missael Robles, Director of Assets at UdG, and Mr. Edwin Bello, local director of the CI at UdG. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the future strategic positioning of the CI and improvements to its operational conditions, offering constructive guidance and strong support for its next stage of development. The Chinese and local directors of the CI at UdG also held a talk with Mr. Yang Wei, Chairman of the Chinese International Education Foundation (CIEF), who fullly affirmed the CI’s achievements and conveyed his anticipation for deeper collaboration going forward.

Meanwhile, Vice Chair of University Council Ye Yingfang accompanied Barbara Terenzi, Local Chairperson of the San Marino CI, to visit the CIEF, where they held warm and productive talks with secretary-general, Zhao Lingshan and other CIEF representatives. The Foundation commended the joint efforts of our university, San Marino University, and the San Marino China Friendship Association in promoting Chinese language and cultural courses—particularly those featuring traditional Chinese medicine at the San Marino CI, which have significantly enriched local engagement with Chinese language learning.

Prior to the conference, the 2025 Board Meetings of both CIs were successively convened at our university. Ye Yingfang attended and delivered opening remarks. Board members, Chinese and local directors of both institutes, and relevant officials from the International Affairs Office participated in the meetings.
Looking ahead, BCU will continue working hand-in-hand with domestic and international partners to further strengthen faculty development for the CIs, optimize teaching conditions, and enhance both the education quality and scale —making renewed contributions to the high-quality advancement of international Chinese language education worldwide.
