On New Year’s Eve, the San Marino Confucius Institute celebrated the Chinese New Year of the Dragon with more than 50 guests from local politics, business, culture and entertainment.
In the past year, the cultural activities of the San Marino Confucius Institute have been strongly supported by local people from all walks of life, especially the Tai Chi classes have been widely promoted by the government. On New Year's Eve, the Mayor of San Marino, Tomaso Rossini, the Mayor of Serravalle, Roberto Ercolani, the Mayor of Borgo Maggiore, Barabara Bollini, the Mayor of Monte Giardino, Giacomo Rinaldi, the Mayor of Monte Giardino, Giacomo Rinaldi, were present to celebrate the event and invite the Confucius Institute for the cooperation in the coming year. Barbara Terenzi, President of the San Marino-China Friendship Association, together with her family and friends, sent warm wishes to the Confucius Institute. Representatives of the partner schools in Rimini, students representatives of the Chinese language classes and the Tai Chi class gathered in the Chinese restaurant to welcome the Chinese New Year together with all the Chinese and foreign staff of the Confucius Institute.
San Marino Confucius Institute closely integrated Chinese traditional elements in the New Year's Eve dinner menu and dishes, the dumpling-making activity, the toasts, the writing of “Da Da”, the chorus of the songs, etc., with the joy and laughter on the spot. Accompanied by the ringing of the New Year’s bell, the celebration of New Year's Eve of the Dragon Year of the Confucius Institute came to a successful end with the toast of the Chinese Director of San Marino Confucius Institute, Prof. Guo Xiaoxia, which opened a new prelude to the development of Chinese culture in San Marino.
