BCU Students Achieve Excellent Results in Beijing University Emergency Rescue Skills Exchange and Demonstration Event

On December 11, the final of the "Guard Youth, Aid Beside" Beijing University Emergency Rescue Skills Exchange and Demonstration Event concluded successfully at Beijing Forestry University. With solid professional competence, seamless teamwork, and composed on-site performance, the participating team from Beijing City University (BCU) secured the "Group Third Prize" and the "Outstanding Organization Award," demonstrating the effectiveness of BCU’s emergency rescue education.

Since the launch of the competition, BCU has placed great emphasis on preparation efforts. Led by Pro.Liu Zeping, Head of Nursing Department under the School of Biomedicine, a team characterized by "strong expertise, solid discipline, and efficient collaboration" was formed. Instructors closely monitored training progress, ensuring orderly preparation work. During the preparation period, the team specially invited Liu Ying, a training instructor from the Red Cross, to provide guidance on campus. Instructors from both inside and outside the school worked together to support the participating students. Additionally, a volunteer service team of over 50 members was established, with volunteers fully engaged in supporting the training and competition process.

In the preliminary stage, 48 teams from various universities in Beijing competed fiercely on the same platform. Team from BCU remained calm and demonstrated solid professional skills in each competition segment, successfully advancing with consistent performance to become one of the top 10 teams that progressed to the next round.

The overall score in the semifinals consists of two parts: on-site performance and video submission scores. The video work produced by our student Zhang Yu received high marks. In the on-site performance segment, BCU team demonstrated standardized and proficient operations, with clear and well-defined divisions of labor. In the simulated household first aid scenario, the participants remained calm and composed, swiftly assigning roles, conducting precise injury assessments, risk evaluations, and formulating response plans. Their performance earned unanimous recognition and high praise from the judges.

In this competition, BCU team has exemplified the warmth of "the humanitarian spirit," the breadth of "compassion," and the responsibility of "dedication" through their actions. This fully demonstrates the remarkable effectiveness of BCU in implementing the fundamental task of fostering character and civic virtue and enhancing students' comprehensive quality. It has inspired more students to learn first aid and engage in public service, injecting positive energy into strengthening campus safety and nurturing a sense of social responsibility among young people.
