From December 4th to 9th, 2025, the China University Students Sports Dance (International Standard Dance) Campus Group Dance Championships commenced in Chengdu. Led by faculty members Shi Qing, Dong Chao, Bai Xinlu, and Qi Guokai from the Dance Performance (International Standard Dance) program of the School of Performing Arts at Beijing City University (BCU), 22 students participated and achieved outstanding results.

In the competition, BCU students, with their solid dance foundation, superb competitive skills, full artistic expressiveness, and highly cohesive teamwork, remained calm and strived for excellence amidst fierce competition. They secured the national championship in both the "Latin Competitive Formation Dance for Group C-B of University Students" and the "Modern Competitive Formation Dance for Group C-B of University Students" categories within the professional group for comprehensive universities. This marks BCU's first-ever victory in the group dance events of this tournament.

Furthermore, the BCU team stood out as the only university representative from Beijing and was honored with the title of "Sportsmanship Team." Coach Shi Qing was awarded the title of "Outstanding Coach" for his profound professional competence and positive sports spirit. Six students from the class of 2023—Ma Boren, Li Jiaming, Wang Wenhui, He Mingyuan, He Yixuan, and Wu Yifei—were recognized as "Sportsmanship Athletes" for their humble and disciplined competitive demeanor, spirit of mutual assistance and teamwork, as well as their good conduct in respecting opponents and adhering to rules.

Organized by the China Student Sports Federation, this event is a high-standard benchmark competition in the field of university sports dance nationwide. The dual achievements of BCU students and faculty in both competitive performance and moral character showcase the university's professional standards and educational outcomes in the field of dance education. Moving forward, the School of Performing Arts will delve into summarizing experiences and promote professional teaching and artistic creation to higher standards. BCU will also continue to deepen the development of campus sports culture, fostering the well-rounded development of its students.
