On October 13, Beijing City University (BCU) and Germany's FOM University of Applied Sciences signed a supplementary strategic cooperation agreement and successfully held a teacher-student meeting for the German (Sino-German Experimental Class in Business Economics) program. The cooperation agreement was jointly signed by FOM University President Harald Beschorner and BCU Vice Chair of University Council Ye Yingfang, marking a new chapter in the friendly cooperation between the two institutions that has spanned over a decade. Both parties will engage in comprehensive collaboration in talent cultivation and faculty research to develop more interdisciplinary professionals proficient in German and well-versed in business for China-Germany economic and trade cooperation.

During the teacher-student meeting for the German (Sino-German Experimental Class in Business Economics) program, Harald Beschorner introduced FOM University's distinctive educational features, welcomed BCU German program students to the FOM family, and emphasized the importance of German as a language for international business. Zhang Kai from FOM's German-Sino Business School encouraged students to seize international development opportunities and enhance their foreign language proficiency along with business and economic expertise. Li Jiayi, Dean of the School of International Culture and Communication (SICC) at BCU, outlined the school's development overview and achievements in international cooperation projects for the German program. Zhang Xinyuan, Deputy Dean of SICC, shared prospects for deeper collaboration between the two universities, encouraging students to master foreign languages, improve professional skills, and broaden international perspectives. Liu Li, Director of the German Department, elaborated on the innovative cultivation model integrating "German + Business + Cross-cultural" aspects from the dimensions of training objectives, curriculum system, and practical components. Lin Yufei, a representative of the 2025 freshman cohort, shared her one-month learning experience in German, demonstrating the positive spirit of new students.

BCU's German (Sino-German Experimental Class in Business Economics) program has established multi-level and multi-channel international exchange platforms with over 10 renowned German universities and cultural institutions, building a comprehensive international cultivation system encompassing "short-term immersion - semester exchange - joint degree programs."
