On October 13, a delegation from the University of Sussex, led by Professor Robin Banerjee, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and Professor Ingrid Woolard, Executive Dean of the Business School, paid a friendly visit to BCU’s School of International Culture and Communication (SICAC). The meeting was attended by Ye Yingfang, Vice Chair of the University Council of BCU, along with relevant officials from the International Affairs Office, SICAC, and faculty members from related disciplines.

During the meeting, Ye Yingfang extended a warm welcome on behalf of BCU to the University of Sussex delegation and expressed strong expectations for deepening collaboration between the two institutions. She emphasized that this visit should serve as a catalyst to further expand the international cooperation platform between the universities, creating diverse pathways for student development and nurturing outstanding talent equipped with global perspectives and cross-cultural competencies.
In response, Professor Robin Banerjee highly commended BCU’s distinctive educational approach and developmental achievements. He explicitly conveyed the University of Sussex’s eagerness to accelerate collaboration in several key areas—including the implementation of dual undergraduate degree programs, mutual sharing of educational resources, exchange of teaching expertise, and joint student cultivation—and expressed his hope that both institutions would work hand in hand toward mutually beneficial outcomes.

Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening strategic collaboration and reached multiple consensus points, with a particular focus on the following areas: Advancing “2+2” and “3+1” dual undergraduate degree programs in Accounting and Finance(both offered as international curriculum tracks); Establishing mechanisms for faculty teaching seminars and co-delivered courses between the two universities; And optimizing international talent development frameworks to better align with global standards and industry needs.


Following the meeting, Professor Robin Banerjee, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sussex, and Professor Zhang Xiaoxiang, Associate Dean of the Sussex Business School, delivered a comprehensive presentation to BCU students enrolled in the Accounting and Finance (international curriculum tracks) programs. They outlined the University of Sussex’s institutional strengths and the distinctive features of its Business School.
The session also included an interactive Q&A segment, during which they addressed students’ key concerns regarding academic pathways, study abroad opportunities, and overseas progression planning. The event was met with enthusiastic engagement, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.

Its Business School holds the prestigious “triple crown” accreditation—AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS—a globally recognized hallmark of excellence in business education, underscoring its internationally accredited teaching quality.
In the U.S. News Best Global Universities Rankings 2024/2025, Sussex ranks 12th in the UK and 80th worldwide in the field of Economics and Business. Notably, undergraduate students in its Accounting program may be eligible for exemptions from up to nine papers of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) exams—the highest level of exemption available—highlighting the program’s strong academic rigor and professional relevance.
