BCU Faculty Exceled at 2025 Beijing College Students Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition

Recently, students from Beijing City University (BCU) achieved outstanding results in the 2025 "Beijing Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation" Beijing College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. After fierce competition, they ultimately secured one first prize and four third prizes in sub-track categories, setting a new record for the total number of awarded projects. Among them, the team that won a sub-track first prize and advanced to the on-site finals was from the School of Performance (SP). Their project was "Wan 'You' Yinli – The Nation's First Service Provider for Script-Based Gaming Experiences Based on Digital Cultural and Creative Exhibitions" (Advisors: Wang Qian, Pan Geng).

The competition was co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission. Since its launch, BCU has placed great emphasis on the event, conducting extensive promotion, mobilization, and related training activities for all students and staff. Participants were enthusiastic and active, with a cumulative total of 208 teams registering, covering over 1,400 students and teachers. The project areas included artificial intelligence, technological innovation, public services, cultural creativity, rural revitalization, and healthcare. Ultimately, 57 team projects were selected to advance to the municipal-level preliminary round in Beijing. The  Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Center of BCU provided comprehensive support for the competing projects, inviting a panel of 11 industry experts, investors, and university mentors to conduct evaluations. These assessments covered seven key dimensions: project overview, market analysis, product technology, business model, risk management, financing strategy, and financial projections. BCU also organized specialized guidance for the teams, including four thematic training lectures, 16 one-on-one project guidance sessions via Tencent Meeting, and eight one-on-one Q&A sessions in WeChat groups, totaling over 230 hours of various guidance activities.

In recent years, BCU has consistently prioritized practical education in innovation and entrepreneurship for students, establishing a multi-departmental collaborative practice-based education system. This system includes the development of courses in fundamental innovation and entrepreneurship education and micro-degree programs, fostering high-quality student innovation and entrepreneurship teams and innovative projects, and guiding students to showcase their youthful brilliance in innovative practices. Moving forward, BCU will continue to refine its innovation and entrepreneurship education system, emphasizing the integration of specialized education with innovation and entrepreneurship education. BCU will focus on cultivating students' innovative spirit and practical abilities, leveraging entrepreneurship to drive employment, and nurturing more high-quality innovative talent aligned with urban construction and development.
