From March 9 to 15, a group of 19 students majoring in Accounting (International Program), Finance (International Program), and English from the School of International Culture and Communication (SICC) at our university embarked on an immersive international program at the University of Hull in the UK. This event, titled “2025 Beijing City University · University of Hull Immersive International Program” and the second “Financial Intelligence with You” China-UK Workshop, concluded with great success.

The group was warmly welcomed by Professor Peter Andrews, Business School’s Dean of Global Strategic Partnerships at the University of Hull; Professor Hadiza Sa’id, Head of Accounting, Finance and Economics; eight academic faculty members from the Accounting and Finance majors; and Ms. Shumei Li, Program Director for Foreign Language Programs in the Student Development Department.
During the week-long program, students actively engaged in ten specialized courses in finance and accounting, including Marketing, Accounting and Financial Information Systems, and Introduction to Finance, through both integrated and independent small-group sessions. They conducted in-depth academic exchanges with Hull faculty and built friendly connections with fellow students from the UK, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and other countries. In addition to academic activities, students also toured the University of Hull’s campus, library, sports facilities, and student dormitories, gaining insights into its diverse campus culture. Other cultural excursions included a trip to the British Museum and a London city walk, providing authentic overseas living and learning experiences.

At the closing ceremony, Professor Peter Andrews presented completion certificates to all 19 students and spoke highly of their active participation. He expressed strong interest in further collaboration with BCU’s Accounting and Finance majors. This immersive program significantly deepened students’ understanding of international education, empowering them to explore wider academic horizons.
